Zakia Tahiri is a Moroccan director, screenwriter and producer whose career spans more than three decades in film and television. She began as an assistant director, production and casting assistant on major international productions filmed in Morocco, working alongside renowned filmmakers including Bernardo Bertolucci, Claude Lelouch and José Pinheiro. She later trained as an actress in Paris before building a successful acting career. She appeared in several acclaimed films, including "Fort Saganne", "A Door to the Sky" and "Badis", before turning to writing and directing with Ahmed Bouchaala. Together, they created notable works such as "Krim", "Made in France (Origine Contrôlée)" and the television film "For the Love of God", earning recognition at numerous international film festivals. In 2008, she directed her first solo feature film, "Number One", which enjoyed major success with Moroccan audiences. Since then, she has written, directed and produced television series, TV films and documentaries for Morocco's national broadcasters. In 2019, her series "Rdat Lwalida" won the Grand Prize for Best Arab Television Series. She is currently developing her next feature film, "Séisme".
