Soumaya Hidalgo Djahdou is a Spanish artist of Algerian heritage whose work explores identity, migration and cultural memory. “The Flight of the Stork” is her first feature documentary, awarded at the 2024 Documenta Madrid industry market. The film marks her first feature-length documentary collaboration with Berta Vicente Salas.

Berta Vicente Salas is a filmmaker and cinematographer with a Master's degree in Documentary Cinema from EICTV in Cuba. A Pulitzer Center grantee, her work focuses on memory, identity and human relationships. “The Flight of the Stork” marks her first feature-length documentary collaboration with Soumaya Hidalgo Djahdou.
